Last night we received several reports about problems with connecting to the mail server for incoming e-mails. The service interuption was caused by a interuption of another server what caused that also the backup mail system did not function as it should do. Normally the backup system takes over all mail services when the main system crashes.
Later on yesterday night our technicians solved the cause of the problems. All services are up and running again since that time.
Due to this interuption also the Yabu Blog could not be reached for some time, because of that we were unable to inform everybody through the blog earlier with a post.
Our appologizes for any inconvience caused.

We received several reports of delay in the incoming e-mails this morning. The problem was caused by a system failure in one of the relay servers. The delayed e-mails were queued by the backup system. After the problem was solved later this morning all queued e-mails were processed. This failure caused delay in a part of the e-mails, the average delay was about 60 minutes.

Last week we have made some changes to our e-mail network. As part of these changes we are using a new e-mail relay server – relay.yabuadsl.be. You can use this server for your mail applications to send out e-mails. Usually these changes won’t be noticeable. We were able to solve the problems that a few of our customers had experienced in the past.
We have recently found out that some of our customers are using password verification for the outgoing e-mails. When this option is enabled in your account then it’s possible that you won’t be able to send out e-mails. The simple solution to this is to switch off the outgoing e-mail username/password verification at your e-mail software. If you have any difficulties doing this please contact us at our service desk help lines – 011 988 107. Please note that this solution will be only active at your outgoing mail server (SMTP). The POP3, IMAP and/or the Webmail should not be changed but left as it is configured.
