service interruption – December 22nd, 2009

Tuesday December 22nd, 2009 at 16:41 UTC | Posted by Team Operations

Due to a connection interruption several services were unreachable today. Technicians are working all day on site to solve the issue. The problems are affecting many services including mail, dns and hosting. Also the phone lines of the service desk are unreachable due to the problems.

The problem was at first instance caused by a hardware problem at one host this morning. After this, other hosts followed quickly.

Around 15:30 this afternoon several services are restarting. We expect it will take several more hours before all services and servers are up and running stable again. Services will be started one by one to prevent any overloads.

Our apologizes for the inconvenience caused.

Dynamic DNS for Yabu ADSL Belgium

Friday April 11th, 2008 at 7:43 UTC | Posted by Mark Withoos

Hi all, i would like to announce a new feature for our Belgium Yabu ADSL clients with a dynamic ip address: Dynamic DNS. In december 2006 we allready added this service as a beta feature, the dynamic dns address was a static predifined hostname. Now, when the service goes officially live (no longer in test) we will also give you the possibillity to change the hostname with your own preffered one. You can find this configuration tool at your adsl-details page within the Yabu Europe Serviceweb. On the details page, behind the current active dynamic dns address, you will find a ‘change‘ button to choose your own hostname.

Dynamic DNS configuration within the Yabu Europe Serviceweb

After you clicked the ‘change‘ button a simple form will appear that you can fill in to set your hostname. Just choose a hostname (use latin letters and figures, no dots and commas etc.) and click set. The system will now, if available, set your hostname. It will be active on our dns servers within several minutes.

Therefore here are some instructions about how you can change your login password to your mail box. Please login to the Yabu serviceweb and go at the Mail boxes option on the left pane. From there you can enter your mail boxes and view them. When choose the mail box you want to add changes to all you need to do is just select it and then you will be at your mail box info page. There you can see all the information about your mail box. On this page you will also find an option to change your password. The Serviceweb is offline for maintenance at the moment. We will get the Serviceweb back online as soon as possible. When there is any news, we will post it in this blog message. Please accept our apologies for this  temporary disruption.

[update 15:40] It is taking a bit longer then planned due some unexpected problems. We solved these problems and are now running the security tests. When these are ready we will re-open the Serviceweb for logins. Thank you for your patience.

[update 17:25] The Serviceweb is open for logins again. We are still improving a lot of things in the code, but that is mostly design. All options should be normally available now. With todays updates we improved the design, security and functionallity. Thank you all for your patience today!

ticket-system upgrade within Serviceweb

Friday January 11th, 2008 at 18:28 UTC | Posted by Team Operations

Maybe you saw it allready, we did some updates on the Yabu Serviceweb on the ticket-system. For a few months you can allready view a list of open tickets matched to your account when you click the ‘servicedesk’ option on the left-side menu within the Serviceweb. From now on you can also view the tickets contents, close a ticket when the problem is solved, re-open a ticket and post updates on the ticket. These new options are meant to make the progress on your questions more transparant and to give you more control over it.

From today on you will find not only the open tickets but a full ticket history on the ‘servicedesk’ page within the Serviceweb. So, also when a ticket is closed it will show up. To give you a quick view on the status of the ticket we introduced some icons in the ticket list.

New ticket status icons on the Yabu Europe Serviceweba short explanation on this:

The tickets will be sorted on creation date, the newest ticket will appear on top. Behind every ticket 2 icons will appear. The first one shows the current progress status on the ticket. The second one tells you if you can edit the ticket, or not.

the yellow triangle: it means that the ticket is in progress, a Yabu Europe team member is working on your question. In some cases you allready received a first answer to your ticket.

the orange question-mark: your ticket is open, the last update on the ticket was done by you. The ticket has not yet been answered. It can be that a team member is still working on finding information that should answer your question.

the green ok sign: the ticket is closed, we expect the problem is solved. It can also be that we are awaiting your answer before we can take any further action.

the blue write-board: this indicates that you can view, close and update the ticket. Click on the icon to open the view of the ticket.

the eye with the red line: this indicates you can not do anything with the ticket through the serviceweb. Most likely this is when the ticket was created before the 11th of Januar 2008. Invisible tickets also appear when you contact the servicedesk another way then through e-mail or the servicedesk, for example when you call the servicedesk and the a team member needs to inform another team member about your question.

Thursday September 20th, 2007 at 15:20 UTC | Posted by Zhivka Koleva

We’ve got reports from a few clients that they suffer from disconnects at this moment on their adsl lines. We are researching the problems and trying to find out what the relation is between the different reports.

In between the best thing what you can do if you expirience this problem is to restart your modem completely. If this doesnt solve the problem please contact our customerservice and give them your details (such as customer id and line number) and describe the problem.

We will update this entry as soon as more information comes available. Our excuses for the trouble, we will solve them as soon as possible.
